Deluge Calculator
Song length from BPM and zoom level — the two real controls on the hardware.
The Deluge's numeric readout as you scroll from page to page, in bar.beat.16th format. This always counts 16 sixteenth-notes as "1 bar" — a fixed display convention, independent of zoom.
BPM and Zoom are the only two things that actually change on the hardware — there's no time-signature setting on the Deluge. BPM is the tempo dial; Zoom is what the ◄► knob controls, deciding how much musical time each of the 16 pad columns represents.
Step is the real unit of granularity — a clip's length can be set to any whole number of steps at your current zoom, down to a single step. That's why "Steps Needed" (not bars) is the number that matches what you can actually dial in.
Page is fixed at 16 steps — that never changes, regardless of zoom.
Bar, in the numbers below, is just the Deluge's own display convention: it always counts every 16 sixteenth-notes as one bar, for the numeric readout, regardless of your zoom or the meter you're actually playing in. It's shown here for reference, not because it's something you set.

Anatomy of the Deluge
Page is real Deluge terminology — it's the 16 steps of the pad grid visible on screen at once. Scroll left/right and you move a full page at a time.
